Here at Housewares Direct, we want you to be able to get the most out of our website, which we have built especially for you. It’s easy to get confused, especially if the internet is new to you: we have compiled a handy manual on how to use our website to its fullest potential and get everything you want and need at the drop of a hat!

Searching for what you want

Knowing what you want makes things a lot easier when shopping online, as you can just search for it. At the top of our homepage, which looks like this:

There is a search bar.

In here, you can type anything you may want to try and find, from any category. Simply press the ‘enter’ button on your keyboard, and this will take you to a page which has a narrowed down list of all our relevant products, stopping you from spending hours trawling through all our categories!

Another way to search is by SKU. If you receive our catalogues through the post, you will be able to see that under all our products, there is a 5-digit number. In a catalogue, it will look like this:

This number is different for every product, and if put into the search bar, will bring up that exact item. If the item is out of stock, it won’t come up, making it easier for you to narrow down your shopping list!

Categories

If you don’t have a specific item in mind, but still want to browse, then our categories are the best way to go. At the top of our homepage, we have a row of category names, such as ‘Bedroom’ and ‘Bathroom’. These are how we organise all our products. If you hover your mouse over the top of these titles, a drop-down menu will appear. This is what it will look like:

Once you have had a look at the categories available, you can click on whichever one takes your fancy. This will then take you to that specific area of the website. For example: if I wanted to find mugs, I would hover over the ‘Kitchen’ category; then, I would click on ‘Crockery’. After this, I would be taken to this page:

If you need something even more specific, you can search by price. You can do this in two different ways.

One

On the left side of the screen, underneath the subcategories, there is a slider. This slider has the lowest price and highest price of things in this category. By sliding the banner, you can stop being shown anything that is out of your price range – just simply set the highest price to something you can afford!

Two

Just above our products, there is a box that says, ‘Sort By’. This allows you to sort by position, product name, and price. If you click on price, that will sort all our products from lowest price to highest price, showing you the lowest priced items first. This is a good way to see what is available on our website, whilst still setting yourself a price limit.

My Account

At the top of our homepage, there is a green circle with the words ‘My Account’ underneath it. This is where things like your order information, personal info, and card details are stored. You do not need to have one of these accounts to shop with us, but it is an easy and secure way of keeping track of your orders with us, as well as keeping your personal information safe.

If you don’t have an account, you can easily make one. Simply click on the ‘My Account’ button, and then select ‘Create an Account’. Follow the instructions, make a note of your email address and password somewhere safe, and then you’re good to go!

Contact Us

If you need to contact us for any reason, whether it be regarding your order or to ask a question, you can do this by clicking on the ‘Contact Us’ button on the homepage. By clicking on this button, it will bring up a form that will ask for your name, email address, and phone number, as well as your message. If you would prefer to talk to someone over the phone, you can contact our Customer Service Team on 0871 472 4250. They are open seven days a week and will be happy to take your call!

FAQs

If there are ever any questions you have regarding the website, orders, or our recycling scheme, you can find everything you need in our Frequently Asked Questions tab. At the bottom of the page, you can find our FAQ page – this might even mean you won’t have to ring up or send a message to have your questions answered! They are highly informative and are there to help, so make sure you take a look.
